Contraceptive suppositories are a method of contraception. We all know that contraception is something that couples need to pay attention to throughout their lives. Contraceptive suppositories are pushed directly into the deep part of the vagina, but the contraceptive effect of this method of contraception is not as good as that of intrauterine devices and other contraceptive pills. 1. Contraceptive suppository is a kind of suppository with a pointed end , and its main ingredient is spermicide such as phenylmercuric acetate or nonoxynol ether. It can dissolve into liquid after about 10 to 15 minutes under body temperature, directly killing sperm or affecting sperm activity; the dissolved liquid is oily and applied to the cervix to prevent sperm from entering the uterine cavity, thereby playing a contraceptive role. Before sexual intercourse, remove the packaging of a contraceptive suppository and gently push it deep into the vagina. After it dissolves in 5 to 10 minutes, you can have sexual intercourse. After sexual intercourse, most of the fluid is discharged from the body along with vaginal secretions and semen. 2. Wash the vulva with warm water 6 hours after ejaculation . The advantages of contraceptive suppositories are that they are easy to use, do not affect the pleasure of sexual life, and the drug itself has no side effects. The spermicidal efficacy and speed of nonoxynol suppositories in vivo are significantly higher than those of nonoxynol membranes. The disadvantage is that the contraceptive effect is not as good as oral contraceptives and intrauterine contraceptive devices, and a small number of women may experience allergic reactions or slight irritation in the vagina. 3. When using contraceptive suppositories, be sure to use them at the prescribed time and method. If you do not have sexual intercourse within half an hour after inserting the contraceptive suppository, you need to insert another one before having sexual intercourse. Contraceptive suppositories are easy to deform at high room temperature. They can still be used after deformation, but they should not be used if they change color or deteriorate, so as not to affect their contraceptive effect. Suppositories can easily damage the rubber, so they should not be used at the same time as vaginal diaphragms, condoms, etc. Those who suffer from vaginitis, severe cervical erosion, excessive vaginal relaxation, and uterine prolapse should not use contraceptive suppositories. |
