Ovulation occurs in the middle of the menstrual period, so 40 weeks (280 days) of pregnancy is 2 weeks longer than the actual pregnancy time calculated from the fertilization of the egg. If a woman's menstrual cycle is 28 days, then 280 days of pregnancy is equivalent to ten gestational months (28 days is a menstrual cycle) or ten menstrual cycles, hence the saying of ten months of pregnancy.

Calculate from the first day of the last menstrual period: the month of the expected delivery date is the month of that month. If it is greater than 3, subtract 3. If the month is less than 3, add 9 to get the month of birth. Date: If calculated according to the lunar calendar, the date of the last menstrual period plus 14 days is the date of birth. If calculated according to the Gregorian calendar, add 7 days to get the date of birth. But please note that the due date is only an estimate.
