There are several types of commonly used contraceptive rings

We all know that if women want to take long-term contraceptive measures, the best way is to use an IUD. Compared with birth control pills, contraceptive rings have relatively fewer side effects for women, and they are low in cost and are very suitable for most women. Therefore, it is favored by many women. However, some contraceptive rings are effective while others are of poor quality. Today we will talk about several commonly used contraceptive rings so that you can learn more about contraceptive rings and better choose the product that suits you.

The types of contraceptive rings commonly used at home and abroad are:

T-shaped contraceptive ring with copper: T-shaped plastic bracket, according to the different copper area (square millimeters), there are many types such as T.11220, T.11220, TCll380, etc. TCU 200 is widely used at home and abroad. The advantages of the steel contraceptive ring are that it adapts to the shape of the uterine cavity, is not easy to fall off, and is easier to put in and take out; the disadvantages are that the incidence of uterine bleeding is slightly higher, and the T-shaped cross arm may pierce the uterine wall. For this reason, the two ends are made into round beads in China, which are more effective than stainless steel rings and can be stored for about 5 years.

Silicone rubber strip steel V-shaped contraceptive ring: It is made of stainless steel wire as the support, with a silicone rubber tube on the outer cover. The tube is covered with copper wire with an area of 200 square millimeters, which is evenly divided into 4 sections and wrapped around the horizontal arm and oblique arm of the contraceptive ring respectively. The shape of the device is V-shaped, and the horizontal arm is broken in the middle and connected in the center (the horizontal arm can have a flexibility of 0.5 cm). It can be divided into three specifications: 24, 26, and 28 according to the horizontal arm. The advantages of this contraceptive ring are that its shape is consistent with the uterine cavity, and the copper wire is evenly distributed in the implantation area of the uterine cavity, which can enhance the contraceptive effect and has a better effect, but there will be slightly more spotting or irregular bleeding. It can be stored for 5 to 8 years.

Multi-load copper contraceptive ring: introduced from the Netherlands, my country has a joint venture production. This contraceptive ring has a polyethylene bracket, 5 small teeth on the outside of the arc-shaped side arms on both sides, and copper wire wrapped around the longitudinal arm. The copper area is 250 square millimeters and 375 square millimeters. It is divided into large, medium and small sizes according to the size and length of the longitudinal arm. It is easy to place, follow up and remove, has good clinical effects, and can be expected to be placed for 3 to 5 years.

Active gold single ring 165 and high support ring with copper: The appearance of these two rings is similar to the metal single ring, and both are developed from it. It is made of thicker stainless steel and has a support force of about 165 grams. The active gold single ring 165 is made by inserting two sections of copper wire springs and two sections of indomethacin silicone rubber strips into the stainless steel wire spiral cavity at intervals; the one with only copper wire springs is made into a steel strip high support force ring. The copper area is 200 square millimeters, and the rings are divided into three types: 20, 21, and 22. The placement and removal technology of this ring is similar to that of the gold single ring, but because the stainless steel wire of the ring is thicker, it is not easy to deform and fall off, and it also has a copper wire spring as the active substance. It contains anti-inflammatory pain to reduce its side effects, so the clinical effect is better and it is expected to be placed for more than 10 years.

Active Y-type contraceptive ring: It is a new type of contraceptive ring that has been successfully developed. It is made of stainless steel as the basic material and contains copper and indomethacin. Its structure is divided into three layers. The inner layer is a stainless steel wire bracket in a Y shape; the bracket is wound with copper wire with a surface area of 300 square millimeters, which is the middle layer; the outermost layer is covered with a stainless steel wire spiral spring. Silicone rubber beads and blocks with anti-inflammatory drugs are engaged at both ends of the transverse tube and the upper end of the longitudinal arm. This contraceptive ring has three sizes: 24, 26, and 28. It has good clinical effects, few bleeding side effects, and is expected to be placed for a long time for more than 10 years.

Others: There are many new contraceptive rings under research at home and abroad, such as medicated copper contraceptive rings, magnetic contraceptive rings, contraceptive rings with progestin, etc. The Flexigard contraceptive ring, which has been studied since the 1990s, is more promising. It has the characteristics of being stent-free, with 6 copper sleeves strung on nylon thread. The nylon thread knot is inserted into the myometrium of the bottom of the uterus with a special needle and fixed, so that the copper sleeve is suspended in the uterine cavity. It has good clinical effects and few bleeding side effects.

There are several commonly used contraceptive rings. After reading the introduction above, I believe everyone has a deeper understanding of contraceptive rings. Therefore, when choosing a contraceptive ring that is suitable for you, you must pay attention to your own situation. You must pay attention to rest after the operation. If a woman feels uncomfortable after installing a contraceptive ring, which poses a threat to her health, she must remove the ring in time to protect her health.
