Although impotence is a common disease among men, many men do not have a correct understanding of it and even have many misunderstandings about it, such as believing that masturbation will inevitably lead to impotence. Below, the editor will explain these misunderstandings. 1. Considering the inability to arouse pleasure in women as impotence This is a bigger mistake. As long as the man's penis can erect and penetrate, as long as the man can successfully complete ejaculation and reach orgasm through sexual intercourse, it is not impotence, even if sexual pleasure occurs. One of the characteristics of male and female sexual function is that "men are faster than women". Therefore, if the man has ejaculated and the woman has not yet reached orgasm, this is a physiological phenomenon. At most, it is a problem of disharmonious sex life, and it should never be considered as impotence. 2. Treating the failure of first sexual intercourse as impotence This situation is quite common, and actually violates the principle that there must be a 2-3 month adjustment period after spouses begin sexual life. At the beginning of a marriage, especially on the wedding night, one may be too excited, tired, or even drunk; or due to lack of cooperation between the couple in the newlywed stage, erectile dysfunction may occur temporarily. In fact, this is not surprising. There are also some newlyweds who have poor sex life because they tasted the forbidden fruit before marriage. At that time, they were in a complex mood of groping, trying, nervousness, fear, etc., with a high failure rate, thus leaving a shadow of their poor sexual ability in their minds. This situation should have an adjustment period in the sexual intercourse after marriage. 3. Belief that masturbation will inevitably lead to impotence It is more common among unmarried young people and is a common misunderstanding. It goes without saying that masturbation is a common behavior among teenagers. Some people do worry that masturbation will induce impotence, and some people actually develop impotence afterwards. But modern medicine has made it clear that the occurrence of this type of impotence is not essentially due to masturbation damaging the sexual organs, but rather to the mental and psychological factors caused by long-term masturbation. In fact, the psychological activities of masturbators are very complicated, and they are often in a state of anxiety, guilt, depression, and uneasiness. This unhealthy thinking activity will hinder the normal sexual function. However, even if a person is a long-term masturbator, he may not suffer from impotence as long as he can resolve the above-mentioned mental "problems". 4. If the penis does not have an obvious erection reaction, it is considered as impotence Many young people have reported that their penis would naturally become erect when they watched certain pornographic films, TV shows, books, or pictures; fantasized about a favorite girl; or indulged in some sexual fantasies. However, this reaction is not obvious now. Did they suffer from impotence? Wrong! The answer is simple. Since there is no complete sexual stimulation from the spouse, including visual, auditory, tactile, and olfactory stimulation, and since there is no real sexual intercourse practice, impotence cannot be diagnosed based solely on whether the penis is erect or not. In fact, physiologically speaking, there are two types of male penile erection: one is a reactive erection, which does not require any sexual stimulation and occurs spontaneously through nerve reflexes, such as an erection after sleeping at night; the other is a psychological erection, which requires some kind of sexual stimulation, including silent sexual fantasies from the mind. Therefore, all erotic stimulation can induce psychogenic erection. The regularity of this kind of mental erection that occurs in normal times is very complex and will vary with a person's physique, thoughts, emotions, etc. Sometimes it is better, sometimes worse. It is not an indicator of impotence at all. 5. Belief that frequent nocturnal emissions will inevitably lead to impotence This is another common misconception among teenagers. They believe that frequent nocturnal emissions can seriously damage one's "vitality," and sexual function will be completely lost, right? In fact, this concern is completely unnecessary. It is normal for a healthy unmarried man to have nocturnal emissions 1-2 times a month, and 4-5 times or more is a bit too much. This may be related to inflammation of the reproductive and urinary organs or certain lifestyle factors, such as wearing tight pants, sleeping in a part of the body that is too hot at night, and excessive fatigue during the day. But modern medicine has made it clear that there is no necessary connection between nocturnal emission and impotence. 6. Thinking that premature ejaculation will inevitably lead to impotence From a medical perspective, such situations are often caused by psychological factors. Because of premature ejaculation, I felt dissatisfied, ashamed and guilty towards my wife. Some wives express dissatisfaction, laugh and complain, which invisibly puts a huge pressure on their husbands. Sexual function can actually be destroyed under this complex psychological state and mental pressure. If they receive effective treatment when premature ejaculation occurs, if they have a strong will and don't care, or if their wives don't mind at all, they will not suffer from impotence. Today, modern medicine has not found any inevitable connection between premature ejaculation and impotence. |
