Two researchers from McGill University in Montreal, Canada conducted an experiment. They found 20 young women who were in love, their partners and their friends. The couple and the friend were asked to wear a cotton T-shirt to sleep for seven nights; the T-shirts had pads sewn under the arms to better absorb sweat. Then, these T-shirts need to be recycled collectively. Each girl was asked to pick out the one worn by her lover or friend from three pieces of clothing. The results showed that the female subjects were able to find their partner's clothes immediately. Animals release more sex hormones during estrus, which emit a strong smell. Animals that cannot speak or communicate rely on this to sense each other's sexual desire. "Although human sense of smell has degenerated, smell still has many effects on sex." On January 12, 2009, the latest research findings from Rice University in the United States also proved this point: women only need to smell the scent of men to know whether the other party "has feelings" for them. Compared with vision and hearing, smell can arouse people's sexual desire. Experts believe that this may be due to the role of the olfactory bulb and the brain's limbic system. "To some extent, smell attraction is a physiological response of the human body that is conscious and rapid." In addition, many couples have some "special" habits. "When my husband is away on business, I always put his clothes next to my pillow, together with the pillow he used, and fall asleep smelling that smell every day. This makes me feel relaxed, natural and comfortable physically and mentally." Lisa, a civil servant, told reporters. Melanie, a doctor at the University at Albany, State University of New York, also said that she often wears her boyfriend's T-shirt to sleep when he is away. "Many of my female friends have done the same thing." Snuggling on the clothes worn by your lover and smelling the intoxicating familiar scent can evoke all kinds of beautiful memories with your lover in the past, and they are vivid and moving, as if they were right in front of you. Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh surveyed 121 college students, including whether they had intentionally smelled other people's clothes to enhance memory or feel close; or whether they had fallen asleep holding the clothes worn by their loved ones just because the clothes had his/her scent left on them. As a result, more than 90% of the people gave a positive answer. This is mostly done for psychological reasons. "Sleeping with your lover's clothes in your arms is like he/she is not far away, and you can still enjoy the security, warmth and sweetness of resting your head next to your lover. Therefore, for couples who are separated or cannot live together for a long time, it is not a bad idea to put a piece of clothing worn by your lover next to your pillow and fall asleep with the scent of each other to comfort the pain of missing each other.": "I miss your smile, I miss your coat, I miss your white socks and the smell of your body." Many people, especially women, when they leave their partners, will, as the song goes, miss everything about them, especially the unique smell emanating from their bodies. |
