What does HPV negative mean?

Some women find small bumps on their private parts and become very worried, fearing that they might be genital warts, because genital warts have such symptoms and genital warts are a sexually transmitted disease with a high contagiousness rate and are not easy to cure. If you have such symptoms, you will go to the hospital for an HPV test. If the result is positive, it means you are infected with HPV, and if it is negative, it means you are not infected with HPV.

What does HPV negative mean?

If the HPV test result is negative, it means you do not have HPV, but HPV has many transmission routes. Sexually transmitted diseases mainly refer to lesions occurring in the reproductive organs. No matter which sexually transmitted disease it is, the possibility of developing the disease through unclean sexual behavior cannot be ruled out. It is recommended that you pay attention to your daily living habits, avoid unclean sexual behavior, and avoid contracting HPV.

HPV negative is the result of the HPV test, but because the HPV incubation period is unstable, a negative HPV test does not necessarily mean that you are not infected with HPV. The HPV virus incubation period depends on personal immunity and can be as short as one month or as long as six months. So go to the hospital for regular checkups!

If the HPV infection is negative and no lesions are found in the cytology examination, then there is no need to undergo further examinations for the next 5 to 8 years. Because even if you are exposed to the HPV virus tonight, the pathogen will not be produced until 8 to 10 years later. Traditional Pap smear tests may miss diagnoses, so it is recommended to have them done once a year. HPV testing is more advanced than traditional cytology smear tests.

It should be made clear that not all women infected with HPV will develop cervical cancer, and further examination is needed to determine whether the cervical cells have become cancerous or have precancerous lesions. If no lesions are found, the patient should be followed closely and any early lesions should be treated.
