Should the wife pretend to be stupid when her husband cheats on her?

There is a saying that goes like this: when a smart man meets a smart woman, the result is war; when a stupid man meets a smart woman, the result is scandal; when a smart man meets a stupid woman, the result is marriage. So, when a man cheats, should a woman still play dumb?

Women can't be too smart

"Women who pretend to be stupid are the happiest"... Such arguments become popular again every now and then. What is even more puzzling is that many people apply this viewpoint to the issue of men cheating, and so they think that women need to be a little stupid, or at least learn to play dumb, so that men will come back, otherwise there will be no happiness... Is this really the case? Not to mention that women don't believe it, I'm afraid few men do either.

Some people say that a woman should keep her eyes wide open before marriage, and after marriage she only needs to open one eye or close the other. To put it bluntly, it means playing dumb and not being too serious. I believe that being too serious is harmful to the marriage relationship. We all agree that "we should be open and honest in life and clear and honest in work", but why do we have to press women's necks and say "you are playing dumb!" when it comes to family and marriage issues?

We all know that marriage is a matter between two people. It is complicated and full of trivial matters, which may cause family division at any time. When facing problems, conflicts can only be resolved through communication, division of labor, and cooperation on an equal footing. If a man cheats and a woman turns a blind eye and a deaf ear, this is indeed playing dumb to the extreme. Will the man stop cheating because you are playing dumb? No, he can only think that you are really stupid, or you have water in your brain. The result of playing dumb is actually indulgence.

Whenever we encounter a divorce, we can easily see such a description: "The reason why her marriage is on the verge of collapse is because she does not know how to adapt and adjust her mentality appropriately ."

I'm drunk. If I pretend to be stupid, it means that my husband is having an affair outside and he doesn't have to worry about being discovered by you; or he knows your "blind loyalty" and you can be with him till the end of the world without me taking good care of you. Is this kind of man what women need? Is this kind of happiness what women need?

Smart women, or strong women, are often viewed as "opposites" by men, but men find it troublesome to marry women who are too stupid or too useless. Many men always hope that the woman they marry is confused towards themselves but shrewd towards outsiders. However, men's "high standards and strict requirements" are usually directed at others, not themselves. The saying "A woman who pretends to be stupid is the happiest" is nothing but deceiving others or oneself. If you are really a stupid woman, it's fine, and there is no need to blow your own trumpet and claim yourself to be a smart woman; but if you are a smart woman, it is almost impossible to pretend to be stupid on purpose.

As the saying goes, "If the water is too clear, there will be no fish; if the person is too strict, there will be no followers." No one likes to be seen through or feel passive. But this only applies to small things. When it comes to such major issues as maintaining the happiness and integrity of a family, "women will be happy if they pretend to be stupid" is undoubtedly a false proposition. The worst thing is that many people really think this is a panacea, not knowing how many men it has corrupted and how many women it has harmed. Remember, tolerance is a good quality of women, and has nothing to do with playing dumb!
