What other contraceptive methods are there besides female contraception?

In sex life, contraception is mostly a matter for women. Men are unwilling to wear condoms, and will not easily get sterilized for contraception. Therefore, contraception has become a matter for women. However, some women have special physical conditions and are prone to inflammation and bleeding after the placement of the IUD. Some women cannot wear the IUD stably and are prone to accidental pregnancy. The side effects of taking medicine are great. Contraception becomes a problem for a long time. In fact, there are many types of contraception. When many factors are excluded, male contraception is also very good. So, in addition to female contraception, what other contraceptive methods are there?

1. Condoms Condoms are currently the most commonly used male contraceptive tool. As long as they are used correctly, the contraceptive effect is good. However, some people are afraid that it will affect the feeling of sexual life or are not used to using it, so they are unwilling to use it. The disadvantage is that it cannot be used by men except for a small number of men who themselves or their wives are allergic to rubber.

2. Male contraceptives Male contraceptives are divided into two types: oral and injectable. Among them, cottonpol is the representative of oral male contraceptive drugs and the only drug that has ever been used clinically. However, as the saying goes, every medicine is poisonous to some extent, and cottonypol is no exception. It has many side effects. For example, users are prone to symptoms of hypokalemia and general paralysis, and temporarily lose the ability to work. The most serious side effect is that the user may lose his or her fertility. Therefore, clinical experts remind all male friends to use this contraceptive under the guidance of a doctor when choosing it.

As the only injectable drug currently recommended by the WHO (World Health Organization), undecetrone injection is known as "one injection per month for contraception." However, it is currently undergoing multi-center phase III clinical trials around the world and has not yet been put into large-scale clinical application. After men are injected with this drug, the contraceptive rate of the Asian race reaches over 90%, but that of the Caucasian race is only about 60%. The downside of this drug is that it does not work immediately when injected. It takes one injection per month for three consecutive months to show a contraceptive effect. Moreover, the time of onset is different for people with different physical conditions, and it is difficult to grasp the timing. This method is rather troublesome.

3. Contraceptive surgery Currently, there are three types of contraceptive surgery that can be used: vasectomy, vasectomy plugging, and non-obstructive vasectomy device. The latter two operations are based on traditional ligation. The entire sterilization surgery takes only 20 minutes, no stitches are needed, and the recovery time is only two days. There are almost no scars after the surgery. The minimal trauma and fast recovery are beyond the imagination of many people.

Vasectomy involves cutting off the vas deferens, which is the conduit for sperm transport, thus preventing pregnancy. The starting ends of the two vas deferens are located inside the scrotum and can be felt from the outside of the scrotum and pulled to the scrotal skin. Therefore, the doctor only needs to make a small hole the size of a grain of rice on the scrotum and cut off the vas deferens to achieve the contraceptive effect. The disadvantage is that some men may experience epididymal congestion and discomfort after the operation.

When it comes to vas deferens occlusion, the difference between this method and ligation is that the vas deferens does not need to be cut. Instead, a special material (the main ingredient is carbolic acid) is injected into the vas deferens, which is stimulated to form scars and harden, thereby losing its channel function. The disadvantage is that since the amount of injected material is not easy to control, the length of the vas deferens blocked in some people is too long, causing needle-like discomfort at the surgical site, which may cause other reproductive system diseases and has certain risks. Therefore, this method has been abandoned by the vast majority of clinicians.

Non-obstructive IUD: The "male contraceptive ring" technology is the new favorite in the field of male contraception, and its scientific name is non-obstructive IUD. This method is to place a filter made of special material (nylon) inside the male vas deferens to intercept sperm and achieve the purpose of contraception. When contraception is no longer needed, the filter can be removed and normal reproductive function can be restored. One of the benefits of this surgery is that it avoids the epididymal stasis that may occur after traditional ligation surgery. It is currently undergoing phase III clinical trials.

What other contraceptive methods are there besides female contraception? The most common contraceptive method for men is condoms. Of course, you must buy qualified products. In addition to preventing pregnancy, this method of contraception can also prevent sexually transmitted diseases, infectious diseases, etc., reducing the chance of infection for men and women. It is one of the safest contraceptive methods and will not cause harm to the body. Therefore, it is also the most recommended contraceptive method. However, it should be noted that this method of contraception has a certain impact on the pleasure during sexual life. It is recommended that you choose ultra-thin types.
