Long-term use of birth control pills can cause deficiencies in several B vitamins: the demand for vitamin B2 increases, and if it is not supplemented in time, symptoms such as dry and itchy skin, angular cheilitis, conjunctivitis, seborrheic dermatitis, fatigue, dizziness, etc. may occur; vitamin B6 deficiency can cause symptoms such as peripheral neuritis, irritability, and convulsions; the concentrations of vitamin B12 and folic acid decrease, which may affect hematopoietic function and cause anemia symptoms. It is recommended to eat more foods rich in B vitamins such as carrots, cereals, meat, fish, etc. during the medication period.

Oral contraceptives can affect the absorption and utilization of vitamin C, causing symptoms such as bleeding gums. It is recommended to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C. If necessary, you can choose vitamin C effervescent tablets or multivitamins.

If people with picky eating habits or irregular diets take birth control pills, they can take vitamin supplements if necessary. In addition, if long-term use of contraceptives leads to severe vitamin deficiency and causes related diseases, you should consult a doctor promptly and use other contraceptive measures if necessary.
