What are the causes of cyst formation?

I wonder if you know anything about cysts. What are cysts? How do cysts form? A few days ago, a lump grew on my mother's neck. It was bulgy and didn't look particularly big from the outside. When I pressed it, my mother said it was a bit painful. I wonder if it was a cyst? Later I went for a check-up and the doctor said it was a lymph node, not a cyst. I was very curious about what a cyst is, so I went to Baidu to search for it.

Cyst is a benign disease that can grow on the surface of the human body or in the internal organs. A cyst is a benign sac-like mass that grows in an organ in the body and its contents are liquid. Generally speaking, common cysts include "renal cysts", "liver cysts", "simple ovarian cysts" and "chocolate cysts". Renal cysts are further divided into simple solitary renal cysts and polycystic kidneys. Please see below for the causes of various cysts.

A congenital hereditary

1. Pilocyst: In the past, sebaceous cysts were inherited in an autosomal dominant manner.

2. Multiple steatocystoma: autosomal dominant inheritance.

3. Dermoid cyst: It is congenital and present at birth.

4. Bronchogenic and thyrohyoid duct cysts are caused by congenital developmental abnormalities.

5. Midline penile cysts are caused by congenital developmental abnormalities.

6. The etiology of eruptive anchovy cyst is unclear, and some reports suggest that it is an autosomal dominant inheritance.

Second, the cause is unknown

1. New fluid-filled cyst.

2. Milia: The primary ones are of unknown cause, while the secondary ones are often seen in epidermolysis bullosa, congenital ectodermal defect, tarda cutanea miliaria and after skin grinding.

3. Epidermal cyst: Cause unknown.

The cysts are mostly round in shape and protrude semicircularly from the skin surface. It is usually located in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Because it is wrapped by the cyst wall, the edges are smooth and neat, with little adhesion to the surrounding tissues, so it feels smooth, elastic and cystic to the touch. The surface skin is mostly free of inflammation and has normal skin color. Generally, the development is limited and localized and will not expand indefinitely to cause local compression symptoms.

It turns out that the causes of cyst formation are so complicated! I feel that cysts are divided into many categories, and each category is different. It seems that some cysts do not cause much harm to the body, while others can cause harm to people. Anyway, cysts don't sound very comfortable, but fortunately my mother doesn't have one. If you have a cyst, seek medical attention immediately!
