What are the female contraceptive pills?

For some young men and women who have just gotten married, contraception is a very critical issue because they are not yet ready to have children. However, many people are unfamiliar with contraception and do not know what measures to take, especially some young girls. Let me introduce to you what female contraceptives are available!

There are many types of contraceptive pills. According to the different working principles and working links, female contraceptive pills can be divided into:

(1) Key drugs that interfere with ovulation: They interfere with ovulation by interfering with the secretion of gonadotropin by the hypothalamus-pituitary system. The drugs used are mostly compound preparations of estrogen and progesterone.

(2) Drugs that prevent fertilization: They prevent pregnancy by killing sperm and changing the physical and chemical properties of uterine mucus, making it difficult for sperm to penetrate the uterine cavity. Such as low-dose progesterone, topical spermicides and fallopian tube plugging agents for fallopian tube obstruction.

(3) Key drugs that prevent the fertilized egg from implanting: They prevent the fertilized egg from implanting by inhibiting the healthy development of the endometrium. Such as higher doses of progestin and additional emergency contraceptive pills.

(4) Drugs that mainly affect the function of the uterus and placenta: They achieve the purpose of contraception by closing the uterus or causing degeneration and necrosis of the placenta, resulting in miscarriage. Contraceptives can also be divided into the following categories according to the length of their contraceptive effects and dosage forms: short-acting oral preparations, long-acting oral preparations and injections, subcutaneous implants, vaginal rings, topical contraceptives (drug films, topical contraceptive tablets, contraceptive suppositories, contraceptive creams), etc.

After reading the above introduction, I believe you have a better understanding of female contraceptives. Generally speaking, there are many types of contraceptives, but it should be noted that you should not use some contraceptives indiscriminately, because some contraceptives have greater side effects and may cause infertility, seriously affecting future fertility problems, so it is best to use them under the guidance of a doctor.
