Erectile dysfunction (ED) is defined as the persistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. ED is more accurate than the term "impotence" used in the past, because the term impotence has a certain ambiguous derogatory meaning. ED can be divided into three degrees according to its severity: mild, moderate and severe. Impotence belongs to severe ED. 1. Stress Before I knew it, I have reached the age of forty. ED likes to find men of this age. According to a survey, 40% of men over the age of 40 suffer from ED. But why do some people suffer from ED at the age of 40, while others are still fully functional at the age of 70? Because ED is not related to age, but is directly proportional to stress. Under the influence of today's high-intensity, fast-paced lifestyle, men are under great pressure from work, life and society. The combined effects of psychological factors such as excessive stress, depression, anxiety and marital discord can cause ED. 2. Diet The reason why ED is said to be caused by diet is that ED is closely related to diabetes and high blood lipids. Chinese people are particular about their diet and are fond of taking supplements, which provides conditions for diabetes and high blood lipids, and then ED comes. How do diabetes and high blood lipids cause ED? This is because these two diseases damage the body's arteries, causing the arteries to harden and narrow. When the arteries of the male sexual organs also become hardened and narrowed, the male sexual organs will not have enough blood flow during erection, and it may even be like a "cut-off" phenomenon in a river, and the male sexual organs will not be able to get an erection due to "exhaustion" of blood flow. 3. Husband and wife emotions Many cases of ED are related to the emotional disharmony between couples. For example, if one party refuses to have sex due to sexual apathy, fears of pregnancy, or even treats sex as a chore, it will become a burden over time, placing a heavy psychological burden on both parties, reducing "sexual interest", lowering the quality of their sex life, making them less sensitive, and gradually fading the nervous system's sexual reflexes, leading to ED. Of course, living environment conditions will also affect the sexual life of couples. If the environment is noisy, the quality of life of the couple will be greatly reduced and the chance of ED will increase. 4. Bad habits Bad living habits are also related to ED. For example, long-term irregular life, staying up late, alcoholism, smoking, etc. will interfere with sexual activity. Because sexual activity is based on a healthy and energetic body, and a tired body and a haggard mental state often suppress desire. Over time, male function will decline and ED will quietly come. 5. Education level The occurrence of ED is also closely related to educational level. People with higher educational level have lower incidence of ED than those with lower educational level. According to statistics, the incidence of ED is significantly higher among people with primary school education or below. Experts remind us that when it comes to sex, people should first realize that its essence is not just for reproduction, and couples should not stop communicating in this regard because of the hardships of life and the lack of need for children. Otherwise, ED may come early. 6. Health Products A major characteristic of Chinese ED is that men would rather use health products than regular medicines. A survey shows that 86.7% of people believe that "treatment cannot restore normal sexual function"; while many people believe that taking health supplements is more effective. In fact, many so-called "health products" on the market illegally add Western medicine ingredients, but the dosage is very unstable. Sometimes the dosage is large, and sometimes it is very small. Long-term use will have a very adverse effect on men's health. 7. Don’t go to the hospital According to the survey, the consultation rate of ED patients in my country is less than 10%, and each ED man has to wait an average of 22 months before seeing a doctor, which is significantly higher than the 6 months in foreign countries. Influenced by my country's traditional morality and culture, many people do not consider ED to be a disease, but regard it as a natural aging phenomenon and ignore it. Moreover, it involves a lot of personal privacy, which affects people's willingness to seek medical treatment. |
