I believe everyone has heard of the sexually transmitted disease genital warts, which is not only harmful and difficult to treat, but also highly contagious. Pseudo-condyloma acuminatum is a disease with characteristics very similar to genital warts, but its degree of harm is far less than genital warts, and it is not very difficult to treat. However, many patients cannot distinguish between genital warts and pseudo-genital warts. So, will it be painful to have sex if you have pseudo-condyloma acuminatum? Pseudo-condylomata will not cause pain during intercourse. Pseudo-condyloma acuminatum, that is, pseudo-condyloma acuminatum, should be diagnosed with caution. This disease is a benign papilloma, which is not a sexually transmitted disease and is not contagious. It is caused by a large number of 1-2 mm smooth papules on the inner side of the labia minora in women aged 20 to 30, which are clustered but not fused with each other. Pseudo-condyloma acuminatum resembles caviar or small polyps and sometimes itches. It may be caused by physiological variation or vaginal Candida albicans which causes increased leucorrhea and stimulation. The incubation period is 3 weeks to 8 months, with an average of 3 months. It is more common in sexually active young and middle-aged men and women. The peak age of onset is 20-25 years old. The average course of the disease is 3-5 months for male and female patients, who develop the disease shortly after sexual contact. For male patients with an average course of 12 months, their sexual contacts may not develop the disease. Most patients are generally asymptomatic. Lesions vary in size and shape. There may be just a few or many lesions as big as needle heads. They may grow into large tumor-like masses in the anus and vulva, causing a feeling of pressure and a foul odor. Sometimes small condyloma acuminatum may cause pain, itching and discomfort in the vulva, and the patient may have hematuria and difficulty urinating. Condyloma acuminatum in the rectum may cause pain and bloody stools, while large condyloma acuminatum in the rectum may cause a feeling of tenesmus. In male patients, the disease is more common in the frenulum, coronal sulcus, foreskin, urethra, penis, around the anus and scrotum. At the beginning of the disease, there are light pink or dirty red millet-sized growths that are soft in nature and slightly pointed at the top. They gradually grow larger or increase in number. It can develop into a papillary or cystic shape, with a slightly wider base or bands and granules on the surface. The anus is often enlarged and cauliflower-shaped, with a moist or bleeding surface. Pus often accumulates between the grains, emitting a foul odor. Scratching may lead to secondary infection. Genital warts located in drier areas with lower humidity are often small lesions that appear as flat warts. Warts located in hot, humid areas often appear filamentous or papilloma-like and easily merge into large masses. Warts may enlarge in people with severe liver disease. Pregnancy can cause warts to recur or grow faster. Clinical infection refers to lesions that cannot be identified by the naked eye clinically, but topical application or wet compress of 3%-5% acetic acid solution for 5-10 minutes can cause whitening in the HPV-infected area, the so-called "acetic acid whitening phenomenon." the difference Genital warts and pseudo-warts should be distinguished from each other. Pseudo-condyloma is a newly recognized disease in recent years. Pseudo-condylomata is more common in young women, and can occur in both unmarried and married women; the age of onset is mainly between 18 and 40 years old, and the incidence rate is 16% to 18%. The clinical manifestations are 1-2 mm papules, light red, clustered and not fused; smooth, roe-like or villous in shape, and granular to the touch; distributed on the inner side of the labia minora or the vestibule of the vagina. Generally there are no subjective symptoms or only mild itching, which can be easily confused with genital warts clinically. Genital warts mostly occur on the vulva, vagina, urethral orifice, cervix and perianal area. Initially they are small moist papules of light red or dirty gray color, which quickly form wart-like proliferations of varying sizes that may fuse and be shaped like cauliflower or cockscomb, sometimes with secretions and a foul odor. For clinical identification, you can use gauze or cotton swab dipped in 5% acetic acid solution to apply tightly to the affected area and observe after 2 to 5 minutes: if it is condyloma acuminatum, the local area will turn white, which is a positive reaction; pseudo-condyloma acuminatum is a negative reaction, that is, no color change. If there is local inflammation, it may be a false positive reaction and a pathological examination may be performed if necessary. The cause of pseudocondyloma is still unknown, but it is generally believed to be a benign papilloma associated with developmental abnormalities. Whether the occurrence of this disease is related to hormone levels in the body needs further study. |
