What are the reproductive health care methods?

Reproductive health directly affects women's health. For female friends, fertility is closely related to the development, maturity and aging of the reproductive system. After puberty, both men and women acquire reproductive capacity, but as they age, their reproductive capacity gradually declines from its peak stage. What are the health care methods for reproductive health? Let me tell you about it below.

At traditional wedding banquets in southwestern Zhejiang Province, oranges are placed in the center of all the foods, and sugar cane is inserted on the top of the orange pile. This is an intuitive symbol of the union of the two sexes. This obscure yet undisguised display is undoubtedly a hidden phenomenon of fertility worship.

However, in today's world where late marriage and late childbearing are the norm, the decline in reproductive capacity is showing a trend of gradually becoming younger. This means that the later you decide to have children, the harder it will be to achieve your wish. This has to attract people's sufficient attention.

Women's warning

Women have always shouldered a sacred and arduous mission - to bear and reproduce offspring. However, modern society's views on the value of life, the awakening of women's autonomy, the popularization of higher education and the rise of career planning, the increase in divorce and remarriage, the openness of contraceptive methods, etc. are all changing the traditional women's reproductive concept of "having children". Women are particularly worried about the burden of raising children after they are born, and the age they choose to have children has shown a trend of tending to be older.

An unavoidable problem, which is often a hidden worry for older women, is that ovarian function and reproductive capacity decline with age. The older a woman is when she gives birth, the lower her egg fertilization rate, embryo implantation rate, and pregnancy rate. Even if she does get pregnant, her miscarriage rate, fetal chromosomal abnormality rate, and the risk of the delivery process gradually increase. Recent studies have shown that women's reproductive capacity begins to decline at the age of 27.

Men's warning

Most people may think that women have the so-called menopause and menopause physiological stages, and the older they are, the lower the chance of successful conception. However, men do not seem to have such problems, and it is not uncommon for them to have children in old age. Actually, it is not.

Today, as reproductive health deteriorates, men’s fertility is also declining! People may still remember a piece of news a few years ago: due to environmental pollution, all the male fish in a river in Europe became feminized and lost their fertility, which was shocking. Experts point out that various environmental factors such as disease, malnutrition, socioeconomic status, long-term chronic stress, emotional repression, smoking, alcoholism, drug addiction and occupational toxic substances such as heavy metals, pesticides, anesthetics, antimetabolites and radiation can have a negative impact on reproductive health.

Studies have also shown that men, like women, have so-called physiological cycles, especially after the age of 30. In fact, after the age of 24, a man's ability to get his female partner pregnant begins to decline. No matter how old the female partner is, as long as the man is over 24 years old, the probability of making his female partner pregnant within a year will decrease by 2% to 3% for each year he grows older.

In addition, women who try to conceive with a male partner who is five years older than them have a lower chance of successfully conceiving than with a younger male partner.

Reproductive health issues that cannot be ignored

Why is it that as living standards continue to improve, reproductive capacity is showing a clear downward trend? Various environmental factors such as socioeconomic status, chronic stress, emotional repression, tobacco, alcoholism, drug addiction and occupational toxic substances such as heavy metals, pesticides, anesthetics, antimetabolites and radiation can have a negative impact on reproductive health.

In addition, sexual dysfunction and reproductive system infections (such as gonorrhea, syphilis, etc.) have become increasingly common in recent years. Sexually transmitted diseases such as non-gonococcal reproductive tract infections, which were rare many years ago, especially male and female infertility caused by ureaplasma urealyticum and chlamydia infections, are now common, and the incidence rate has risen to a serious level. What is particularly worrying is that the vast majority of these patients have no symptoms of infection.

Current clinical data show that reproductive tract infections caused by mycoplasma and chlamydia are the most common factors leading to male infertility. Infection with Chlamydia trachomatis can cause male urethritis, vas deferens inflammation, epididymitis and sexual dysfunction. Moreover, the inflammation of the vas deferens weakens the sperm motility, which in turn causes infertility.

Under normal circumstances, men carrying ureaplasma will not develop symptoms, but will experience acute symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and purulent secretions. Although this disease is a chronic infection with no specific symptoms, it can lead to infertility.

For women, mycoplasma and chlamydia infections can cause mycoplasma and chlamydia cervicitis, endometritis, inflammation of the fallopian tubes, pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis and other inflammations. Furthermore, women are more susceptible to infection than men, and once infected, the disease progresses faster and is more severe.

In fact, chlamydia and mycoplasma infection is not a stubborn disease, but it is easy to be ignored because the symptoms are mild when it occurs. Chlamydia and mycoplasma have weak resistance to the external environment and can only survive for 15 minutes at 45°C, so timely treatment is very critical.

It is more important to focus on internal health

The editor reminds everyone that various reasons have caused the reproductive capacity of men and women to decline earlier and earlier, and we have to pay enough attention to it. We need to change our unhealthy lifestyles on a daily basis, go to the hospital for health screening regularly, detect problems in a timely manner, receive early treatment, maintain normal physiological functions, and make our internal environment as healthy as our external appearance.
