Correctly understand oral contraceptives and effective contraception

Taking birth control pills is one of the most comfortable contraceptive methods. Taking one tablet of short-acting birth control pill daily, or taking it continuously for 22 days from the end of menstruation, can regulate menstruation and help with symptoms such as premenstrual abdominal pain and irritability. Many women unexpectedly find that their skin becomes smoother after getting used to taking short-acting contraceptives.

To solve the problem of missed doses of short-acting oral contraceptives, there is a very simple method that can be used as a reference: make a monthly calendar on the computer, cut and paste it on the body of the medicine bottle, make a corresponding mark for each tablet taken, and couples can remind each other to prevent forgetting.

The new generation of short-acting contraceptives have effectively changed the side effects of the old generation of contraceptives, such as weight gain, acne, and increased hair, through improved ingredients, and have no effect on the development of the fetus. In other words, as long as you are prepared physically and mentally and are ready to have a baby, you can become pregnant immediately after stopping the medication.

Of course, one misunderstanding about oral contraceptives that needs to be clarified is that many young girls find it troublesome to take pills every day, so they simply don’t do any “preparation” in advance. It’s only after they have sex that they rush out to buy emergency contraceptives and take them. Gynecologists even call these young girls the "Yuting tribe." In fact, this practice exaggerates the "magic effect" of emergency contraception. Almost all emergency contraceptive pills work by inhibiting ovulation and endometrium. Therefore, taking them continuously and multiple times in the same menstrual cycle will increase the chance of menstrual disorders and the failure rate.
