What contraceptive method is best?

In today's prosperous world, people's ideas are becoming more and more open. So it has become a well-known thing that men and women have sex. Not only between couples, but even young men and women in love cannot avoid sex. But they don't know what safety measures to take, which can easily lead to the woman getting pregnant before marriage. However, they can't take the responsibility, so what kind of contraceptive method is good?

1. Condoms

Condoms are a non-drug form of preventing conception, mainly used to prevent human sperm and eggs from combining during sexual intercourse to prevent pregnancy. In addition, condoms also prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea and AIDS (HIV), so they are also called condoms. Today's condoms are usually made of natural rubber or polyurethane.

Condom advantages

1. Reasonable price and easy to use;

2. It can play a certain role in preventing sexually transmitted diseases;

3. Can reduce male sensitivity and delay ejaculation;

4. It can prevent the smegma from contacting the cervix and reduce the incidence of cervical cancer.

Condom Disadvantages

1. Most traditional condoms use silicone oil lubricant, which is alkaline and incompatible with the weakly acidic environment of the female vagina. At the same time, the silicone oil component has strong adhesion and is easy to adhere to the vaginal wall. Long-term use will endanger female reproductive health and cause gynecological diseases.

2. Traditional condoms are mostly made of rubber, which has natural cracks of 5000-70000 nanometers and cannot effectively block many viruses.

2. Contraceptive pills

Contraceptive pills generally refer to oral contraceptives, which include female oral contraceptive pills and male oral contraceptive pills. Its contraceptive principle is mainly to inhibit ovulation and change the cervical mucus to make it difficult for sperm to penetrate, or to reduce the production of glycogen in the uterine glands to make it difficult for the blastocyst to survive, or to change the activity of the uterus and fallopian tubes to hinder the transportation of the fertilized egg. A drug that prevents sperm and egg from combining to form a fertilized egg, thereby achieving the purpose of contraception.

Note the problem

1. When taking various contraceptives, you must develop a good habit of taking them accurately, on time, and in the correct dosage. You cannot change or extend the time of taking the medicine at will. Do not miss or take a dose late. If you find you have missed a dose, take it the next day. Otherwise, it may cause irregular bleeding or contraceptive failure.

2. Contraceptive pills should be properly stored to avoid accidental ingestion by children. Do not take the tablets if they are damp, melted, or the sugar coating is worn or crushed, as this may affect the contraceptive effect or cause vaginal bleeding.

3. For long-term contraception, the drug should be taken under the guidance of a doctor. The duration of medication is usually 6-7 years for short-acting drugs and 3-4 years for long-acting drugs. Contraceptive pills may be taken no more than twice a year when visiting relatives. Can be used interchangeably with other contraceptive measures.

4. Patients with acute or chronic hepatitis, nephritis, tumors, diabetes, thrombotic diseases, heart disease, and severe hypertension should not take this product.

5. Women who are breastfeeding or over 45 years old should not take it within six months after delivery.

6. If you become pregnant during medication, you should terminate the pregnancy. If you want to have a baby, you should stop taking the medicine for half a year before getting pregnant to prevent the birth of a deformed fetus.

3. IUD

The intrauterine device, also known as the IUD[1], was developed in ancient times. It is recorded that ancient Arabs and Turks placed small stones in the camel's uterus to prevent the camel from becoming pregnant during long journeys in the desert. In the mid-11th century, the Israeli scientist Avicenna reported the use of contraceptive pessaries. In the late 19th century, metal handles were used to correct the position of the uterus, induce labor, and prevent pregnancy. In fact, these devices do not enter the uterine cavity and are not true functional IUDs.

The IUD is declared by the family planning department to be "quite popular among women" because it can achieve the purpose of contraception without affecting sexual life. It is easy to insert and remove, "safe and effective", and has "mild" adverse reactions. Currently, the compulsory insertion of this ring has become an important measure for women to take for postpartum contraception.

In summary:

For women before childbirth, they should choose a contraceptive method that is reliable and will not affect future fertility, mainly short-acting contraceptive methods. The preferred method is combined short-acting oral contraceptives. Condoms, topical spermicides, etc. can also be used, but the contraceptive effect is slightly inferior to oral contraceptives.

For women after giving birth, the contraceptive period is up to 25 years. It is recommended to use a more convenient long-term contraceptive method: it is usually placed by professionals and the contraceptive effect can last for 5-10 years. The main options are the progestin-releasing intrauterine system (Mirena), the intrauterine device, and the subdermal implant.

Women in menopause are advised to use an intrauterine contraceptive system (Mirena) or external medications, and avoid using contraceptive methods that increase menstrual bleeding, such as copper intrauterine devices.

After reading the above introduction to which contraceptive method is better, I think everyone should have some understanding. There are many methods of contraception, but the methods used by women at different stages are different. Women should correctly understand and master the relevant knowledge in this regard and carefully choose the best option that suits them.
