Redness on the glans penis after sex

Redness on the glans penis after sex

Sexual intercourse between couples is a very private matter, and many couples will encounter some embarrassing little problems during their sexual intercourse. Although these issues may be difficult to discuss when seeking medical treatment, they cannot be ignored. For many male friends, in addition to paying attention to the foreskin problem, if the glans becomes red after sexual intercourse, they should also consult a doctor in time. What is the reason for this phenomenon? Let’s explore the problem of red glans after sexual intercourse.

1. Glans

The glans, also known as the penis head, refers to the spherical object at the front end of the penis. It is formed by the expansion of the front end of the urethral corpus spongiosum. There is a urethral opening at the end of the front end, which is the common outlet for urine and semen. The penis can be divided into the glans penis, the body penis, and the root penis from front to back. For men with foreskin that is too long, the foreskin must be pulled down to see the glans penis. If an adult's foreskin cannot be pulled down to reveal the glans penis, this is commonly known as phimosis and the patient needs to go to a regular hospital for a circumcision. The area near the coronal sulcus of the glans is a place where dirt and grime accumulate. After urination, the residual urine will accumulate between the glans and the foreskin, causing the substances in the urine to precipitate, bacteria and fungi to multiply, and a large amount of urine scale to form and concentrate in the coronal sulcus. Generally speaking, urine scale should be cleaned once every one or two days to avoid inflammation. Clean the glans penis and foreskin before sexual intercourse

2. Proliferative erythema

The clinical manifestations are: single or multiple erythema appear on the glans penis, which may be round, ring-shaped or irregular in shape, with clear boundaries, slightly higher and harder, and shiny surface. Sometimes there may be erosions, crusting, or papillary hyperplasia. The disease may remain unchanged for many years, or it may become cancerous.

The cause of proliferative erythema is unknown, but it mainly occurs in people with prepuce that is too long, so it is believed to be related to prepuce that is too long and smegma irritation. The author has performed circumcision on several patients with this disease, and the erythema disappeared spontaneously in several of them. Therefore, patients with this disease should undergo routine circumcision. There is no definitive answer on the treatment of erythema proliferatum. Some scholars advocate circumcision and close observation; some doctors advocate freezing or X-raying the lesions. In addition, this disease is also called erythematous hyperplasia or red hypertrophic disease. Patients who find erythema on the glans penis should not be afraid to seek medical treatment, but should go to the urology department of the hospital as soon as possible and undergo circumcision.

3. The following are some common situations where erythema appears on the glans:

1. In normal people, some erythematous changes may occur after the penile erection subsides; 2. After balanitis, some erythematous changes may occur; 3. If there are some changes in the coagulation system, erythematous changes may also occur; 4. If you are allergic to certain drugs, erythematous changes may also occur on the glans.

4. Hygiene and Cleanliness

Pay attention to local hygiene, clean the glans and foreskin daily. If the foreskin is too long, treat it in time and perform circumcision when necessary. It is very necessary to clean the smegma in time. For those whose foreskin always covers the glans when the penis is not erect, they should exercise so that the glans is always exposed outside the foreskin. This is hygienic and less likely to cause balanitis. It can also exercise the glans's resistance to friction, reduce sensitivity, and effectively prevent premature ejaculation during sexual intercourse with women.

(2) If one of the spouses suffers from a sexual organ disease, they should suspend sexual intercourse and seek timely treatment. For example, if the spouse suffers from a Trichomonas or Candida albicans infection, both spouses should receive treatment at the same time.

(3) Avoid unclean sexual intercourse and keep yourself clean.

(4) If ulcers or erosions form, change the dressing immediately, twice a day, to avoid uncomfortable irritation.

(5) For acute balanitis, avoid using corticosteroid ointments to prevent more serious infection.

(6) Avoid promiscuity.
