What is the best form of contraception?

Life is our normal physiological need, so it is very necessary to take good contraceptive measures, especially for young people before marriage. Before they plan to have children, they must take good contraceptive methods, which can also reduce the harm to their bodies. The most common contraceptive methods include safe period contraception, condoms, and birth control pills. Now the editor will explain to you in detail what is the best way of contraception. I hope you can choose the method that suits you according to your own situation.

What is safe period contraception

Normal women of childbearing age have menstruation once every 28 days or so. The period from the beginning of one menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation is called a menstrual cycle. For example, from the perspective of contraception, each menstrual cycle of a woman can be divided into the menstrual period, ovulation period and safe period. Ovulatory contraception is a method of contraception that stops sexual intercourse during the ovulation period. This is a traditional contraceptive method and was one of the commonly used contraceptive methods at home and abroad before the advent of birth control pills and intrauterine devices.

The key to using safe period contraception is to determine the female ovulation date. When the ovaries ovulate, there is generally no special feeling. Even though some women may have symptoms such as lower abdominal pain, back pain, breast swelling and mood changes, these phenomena are not specific symptoms of ovulation and therefore cannot be used as a basis for ovulation.

Menstruation and ovulation change cyclically, and there is a close relationship between the two. If you understand the changing patterns of the two, you can determine the ovulation date through indirect methods. There are many ways to determine the ovulation date, and the methods that women can master themselves include: calculating based on the menstrual cycle, measuring basal body temperature, and observing cervical mucus secretion.

1. Calendar method: When you decide to use the rhythm method of contraception, you must first record the length of your menstrual periods for 6 consecutive months. And calculate the number of days of each ovulation in order to determine your own safe period. When recording six menstrual periods, reduce the shortest ovulation day by three days and add three days to the longest ovulation day. This period is the date of possible conception, so sexual intercourse should not be performed.

2. Body temperature method: This is a relatively accurate way to measure the ovulation date. This is based on the principle that body temperature will slightly increase during ovulation. Women who use this method must measure their temperature once a day when they wake up and before getting out of bed and record it. Sexual intercourse is possible three days after the body temperature rises, that is, the day of ovulation, until four days before the next ovulation. The disadvantage of this method is that some people's body temperature rises and falls are not so obvious, and when the body is unwell, the body temperature cannot be measured accurately, so it is not an ideal contraceptive method.

3. Uterine mucus method: Women who decide to use the rhythm method of contraception should first learn how to check for the presence of uterine mucus. When menstruation is over, the inside of the vagina is drier; and when ovulation is approaching, due to the increase in ovarian hormones, the cervix will secrete a kind of mucus called uterine mucus. This kind of mucus. If you want to know the changes in mucus, you need to use a special test strip every day and insert it into the vagina. From the reaction of the test strip and the chart given by the doctor, you can check the nature of the mucus. Sexual intercourse is possible only when the test strip shows no mucus, or three days after showing clear mucus (during ovulation), but this method is more complicated and therefore not ideal.

Different contraceptive methods can bring us different effects. For example, although the contraceptive method of birth control pills can achieve 99% contraceptive effect, it will also cause certain harm to our body and cause women to have irregular menstruation, endocrine disorders and many other conditions. Therefore, we should carefully choose the method that suits us.
