How does high-risk human papilloma develop?

There are some diseases that we are not familiar with, and there are some diseases that we have never heard of in our lives. Only when I have had the disease, or when my family or friends have had it, do I understand and know that it is one way or another. There are many things in this world that we don’t know about, and there are also many diseases that you and I don’t know about. If we don’t come into contact with or learn about these diseases, how would we know that they exist? We also learn from them how terrible, stubborn, and contagious these diseases are. What is high-risk human papilloma and how is it caused?

Since HPV infection usually has no obvious clinical symptoms and its detection rate varies depending on the various methods, it is difficult to determine the factors affecting the prevalence of HPV infection. But it is clear that HPV infection is a sexually transmitted disease and is related to sexual behavior factors. Good personal hygiene, attention to menstrual hygiene, hygiene before and after sex, and the use of intrauterine contraceptive rings can reduce the chance of HPV infection.

(1) Sexual behavior: Most studies have shown that the number of women’s recent sexual partners, the frequency of sexual intercourse, and the presence of genital warts in their sexual partners are closely related to HPV infection. Although some studies have shown that the age of first sexual intercourse is also related to HPV infection, this factor is affected by the number of sexual partners. After adjusting for the number of sexual partners, its risk is not significantly significant.

(2) Immune factors: The host's immunity plays a major role in the progression of HPV infection and lesions. Studies have found that the HPV infection rate in immunosuppressed kidney transplant recipients is 17 times that of the normal population. The incidence of HPV infection is also increased in people infected with HIV. The risk of HPV infection increases due to factors such as promiscuous sexual behavior, a large number of partners, and a young age of first sexual intercourse among HIV-infected people. However, some studies cannot prove that immunosuppression is directly correlated with HPV infection. HIV population may have a higher HPV infection rate due to their high risk of exposure or reduced ability of the body to resist latent viruses. The HPV DNA detection level in this population is higher than that in the normal population, indicating that the body's ability to inhibit HPV infection is reduced.

(3) Pregnancy: Studies have shown that an increase in the number of pregnancies, births, and abortions does not increase the risk of HPV infection, but the number of malformations is related to HPV infection. Some studies have shown that the HPV infection rate is high in pregnant women and the amount of virus detected is also increased, but this may be due to the increase in virus levels during pregnancy, which improves the detection efficiency. A study using the PCR method to detect HPV confirmed this view. The PCR method for detecting HPV virus is independent of the virus content. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the infection rate between pregnant and non-pregnant women (9.6%/10.9%).

(4) Oral contraceptives: Although oral contraceptives can increase the risk of cervical cancer, there is still much controversy as to whether they affect HPV infection. Studies have shown that oral contraceptives can indeed increase the risk of HPV infection, but some people believe that oral contraceptives have no effect on the occurrence of low-grade cervical lesions, but can increase the risk of high-grade lesions. Therefore, it is believed that oral contraceptives affect the HPV infection rate by changing the progression of the disease rather than directly affecting it.

Although sometimes we may feel lucky and think that we are clean enough and have strong resistance, in fact, only our body knows the strength of its resistance. Sometimes illness comes unexpectedly, without waiting for you to prepare, and without giving you any chance to prepare. Paying attention to our own health, paying attention to our own hygiene, and pursuing a high-quality sex life are the principles we must follow. We must also strictly demand ourselves to maintain menstrual hygiene, regardless of gender.
