Abnormal female sexual desire may be a sign of disease

In real life, women do not care about abnormal sexual desire, such as hyperactivity or apathy, and will not consult a doctor. Little do people know that sometimes changes in women’s sexual desire may be signs of disease, which should be taken seriously by most women. If you have excessive sexual desire, the following diseases may be the cause.

Brain lesions

Brain lesions, especially those affecting the sexual centers of the brain or hypothalamus, pituitary gland and gonadal lesions, can lead to an excessive amount of gonadotropin-releasing hormone, causing an increase in gonadotropin, or due to pituitary lesions, excessive secretion of gonadotropin from the anterior lobe. The increased secretion of sex hormones can cause hypersexuality.

Polycystic ovary syndrome

Patients with this disease have strong sexual desire and obvious sexual impulse. The clinical manifestations of this disease include irregular menstruation, obesity, excessive hair growth, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, etc.

Thyroid disease

There are many causes of hyperthyroidism, and the clinical manifestations are hypermetabolic symptoms, hyperexcitement of the neurovascular system, etc. Generally, 10%-20% of patients have symptoms of hypersexuality, especially those with mild hyperthyroidism.

menopause

After the secretion of ovarian estrogen decreases in menopausal women, the pituitary gland secretes too much gonadotropin in feedback, resulting in a strange rebound phenomenon, which manifests as hypersexuality. In addition, menopausal women are prone to manic symptoms, which manifest as groundless suspicion that their spouse is cheating. This mental disorder can cause a decrease in the ability to inhibit sexual excitement. Regardless of gender, more than 60% of people have a tendency to hypersexuality.

Mental illness

There are also some manifestations of hypersexuality in psychiatric patients, such as mania, where the mental disorder leads to a decreased ability to inhibit sexual excitement.
