Punishments in ancient China were mainly aimed at men, but women who broke the law did not necessarily suffer imprisonment. One-sew vagina technique

Vaginal suture, also known as infibulation, is the process of sewing a woman's vulva shut with needles, thread and ropes. This kind of castration is generally not used in official circles because it is extremely despicable and obscene, but it is very popular among the people. Husbands who want to deal with their cheating wives and jealous women who want to deal with their servants who have affairs with their husbands all like to use this method. In "Jianhu Ji" written by Chu Renhuo in the Qing Dynasty, there are similar records such as "crushing garlic and putting it into the maid's vagina and closing it with a rope", "drilling her vagina with an awl and locking it, and throwing the key into the well". It is said that there is an ancient building called "Fengyin Tower" in Haozhou, Anhui Province. This strange name probably originated from this kind of folk punishment.

Wang Zhaoyun of the Ming Dynasty mentioned the operation of this method in "Jieshi Shengtan": "Hit the woman's chest and abdomen with a wooden hammer, and something will fall and cover her vulva. She can only defecate and urinate, and her humanity will be destroyed forever." This is what is usually called "confinement." As for which organ falls, some people think it is the uterus, some people think it is the anterior wall of the vagina, but these two types of prolapse cannot fundamentally cut off sexual intercourse.

In this regard, Wu Xiang of the Qing Dynasty had a unique view. He said that there is a small bone called the "shame bone" deep in the woman's vagina. Once external force is applied to make it fall, it will seal the vagina like a gate, making sexual intercourse impossible, thus achieving the purpose of punishing the woman.

Three Riders on the Wooden Donkey

The wooden donkey is not a toy, but a form of castration that is more lethal than sewing the vagina and confinement. Sewing or blocking the vagina will not kill the person, but riding on the wooden donkey will put his life in danger. A horizontally placed cart shaped like a saddle horse, with a wooden shoot protruding from it that is about a foot long and an inch in diameter (symbolizing the donkey's balls). Four vagina digging techniques

Digging out the genitals, as the name suggests, means digging out the genitals. Women's genitals were dug out, involving many important organs in their bodies. Under the relatively backward medical conditions in ancient times, this punishment seemed extremely cruel. The women who were punished often died from excessive bleeding. Just like cooking horses and pigs, the desire will be eliminated." This method is less destructive and more complicated to operate. Wuliangqiao Method

椓窍, also known as 椓 or 椓杙, the original meaning of "椓" and "杙" refers to the wooden stick used to tie livestock. According to "Shuowen", it means "to hit with a stick". "Qiao" should refer to the female lower body. The term "椓巧" means using this kind of wooden stick to torture the female genitals. One can imagine how cruel it is. During the reign of Emperor Jing of Han Dynasty, King Guangchuan Liu Qu and his queen Yangcheng Zhaoxin murdered the concubine Tao Wangqing, who was forced to jump into a well and died. Zhao Xin was still not satisfied, so she ordered people to fish out her body and "pound her vagina with a stick." This is the case even for the dead. If used on a living person, its cruelty would be no less than castration of a man.
