7 strange ways of devotion of ancient women

As we all know, girls in ancient times did not have much choice in the objects of their first devotion, but the following 7 weird ways of devotion make us want to travel through time.

First: Dedication to animals

Such scenes of sexual intercourse between humans and animals are common in European pornographic films. Because for Europeans, this is an ancient custom.

In ancient Egypt, there was a custom of worshipping the golden bull. The so-called golden bull was a black bull with special stripes on its body. It was said to be the incarnation of Osiris, the god of fertility. Whenever a golden bull was born, the priests would raise it carefully, and when it was four months old, they would send it to the Golden Bull Temple. Within 40 days after the Taurus first arrives at the temple, men are not allowed to go there, and only women are allowed to worship naked in the temple. Young girls dedicate their chastity to the Taurus, as this is their religious responsibility.

Although this custom was very sacred at the time, this method was too cruel to the girls.

Second: Dedication to God

God refers to monks, priests, etc., because they are representatives of God. In ancient India, the king was not allowed to have any contact with his new queen within three days of their wedding. During these three days, the queen would sleep with the highest monk. If the king is like this, what can the people do?

From this point of view, it is indeed sacred. But there is still a contradiction and an illusion. Monks are representatives of God, and this custom was promoted by these monks, especially in ancient India, where young girls had to offer their virginity to monks, priests and others for enjoyment.

The third type: offering to chiefs, landlords, monarchs

Among the indigenous peoples of Bangladesh, India, a virgin is not allowed to get married unless she serves a chief who is also a priest.

This custom can be found in New Zealand, Nicaragua, Brazil in South America and other places. The Roman Emperor Augustus asserted this right over the wives and daughters of his subjects.

The custom in Brittany, France is: the first night is dedicated to Christ, the second night is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the third night is dedicated to the landlord, and the fourth night is dedicated to the groom.

There was a tribe in Guinea, which was once Portugal, whose chief not only enjoyed the right of virginity but also demanded a considerable gift of money. It is really lewd. If the first and second rights of first night do have a sacred religious color, then the third custom has become lewd.

By the Middle Ages in Europe, the right to enjoy the groom's virginity had become a means of possessing everything of the serfs and playing with women. The French call it the right to spread their legs.

The fourth type: dedicated to the relatives, friends and guests attending the wedding...

The Libyans in Africa devote themselves to guests on the first night of their marriage, and the women themselves consider it an honor.

On Awaji Dejima, on the eve of her wedding, the bride will be taken to the forest by several of her friends to have her virginity destroyed. At the same time, the right of first night is also exercised by the groom's father and brother. This custom is hard to understand... In some parts of Africa, a virgin is deflowered by a foreign guest, which is meant to ward off disaster. Allowing relatives, friends and guests to exercise the right of first night means helping each other and sharing the disaster together.

Fifth: Offering to untouchables, servants and foreigners

Among some native peoples of the Philippines, there are special officials who are responsible for this matter. Virgins in New Caledonia have to pay a high fee to have their virginity deflowered before getting married.

According to the narration of Japanese scholar Minami Kumagusu, Matsumoto Masazō once traveled to India and stayed at a nobleman's house. One day, the owner humbly asked him to deflower his daughter. In primitive society, those who enforced the right of first night did so out of serious motives and a spirit of sacrifice, and had absolutely no debauchery or selfishness as people today imagine.

Sixth: Public Auction

This form of dedication is even stranger. There is a story recorded in the book "Black Sexual Behavior": African tribes living near the equator have a custom of publicly auctioning the right to a girl's virginity. When their girls reach maturity, their virginity is sold to anyone who wants it.

On that day, the girl was wrapped in clothes and carried around the tribe, then knelt under an umbrella in the tribal square. Onlookers could spend the night with the girl for an appropriate price.

Seventh: Rulers force people to enjoy

In medieval Europe, countries such as Scotland, France, and Germany openly stipulated through laws that the nobility or feudal lords enjoyed this privilege.

In 1538, the Zurich Cantonal Parliament issued a proclamation stating that when peasants (tenant farmers, serfs) within the territory got married, the lord had the right to the bride's virginity; if rejected, the groom had to pay the lord. If the obligations are not fulfilled, the marriage will not be recognized by the lord and will be invalid. It lasted until the end of the 16th century; in Russia and Eastern European countries, it even continued until the early 18th century.

According to the laws on the eve of the French bourgeois revolution, the King of France had the right to spend the first night with any bride. This provision on the right of first night was an important cause of the French bourgeois revolution.

Of course, the king could not exercise this privilege on every bride, so for some reason, he sold this right to someone under his rule, who could then transfer the right until it was transferred to the last buyer, who might be a manor owner who had the right of virginity for all girls in the area.

When a man wanted to get married, he could buy the right for the girl he wanted to marry by paying a sum of money to the owner of the manor in exchange for a "license to do so." If the owner of the manor knew the girl personally and wanted to enjoy this privilege himself, he would refuse the man's request.
